Apple iPhone set to launch in June end!

The proximity sensor detects when the phone is lifted to the ear and immediately gets into the power save mode! Since the phone will be up against the mighty Nokia N series and Sony Ericsson W series, Apple has made sure Apple's iPhonethat its music phone is not deprived of the regular high end ‘expected’ features. EDGE, a 2 MP camera, WiFi and Bluetooth 2.0 will accompany the handset. The iPhone will also be available with the usual iPod features. The iPhone comes in both 4GB and 8GB versions, enough to store 16 hours worth music.

On the prospective entry, Avinash Ramachandra, Head (Marketing), Apple Asia, told 4Ps B&M, “The iPhone is going to be launched by the end of this month (June) in the USA. The 4GB version will retail for $499, while the 8GB version will retail for $599.” His answer was unclear though when asked about the India debut; but Manil Shetty of Maple Technologies, a reseller of Apple products in Mumbai, tweaked our hopes as he said, “The Apple iPhone might just reach India by January next year.” Till then, let’s make do with the Chinese, eh!
