He was one of the founding members of Tata Teleservices, and now heads marketing at Sasken... and we learnt HR from him!

Currently working on his 2nd PhD in International Master’s in ‘Practising Marketing Management’, Krishnan explains excitedly how any person working with him is most likely to have a book pushed onto them for reading, “If you stop reading, you stop evolving – and in our business, that’s suicidal. I love reading and that’s how I grow...”

Corporate branding, for Sasken, and according to Krishnan, is nothing but “recruitment marketing.” He states with gumption, “Our employees are our greatest branding initiative. I am happy that we have been able to provide them a place where they are able to achieve higher levels in terms of quality of work and essentially pride of work.” Krishnan thumpingly operates on a 3C Model of HR – Character, Commitment and Capability/Competency – while recruiting, selecting and delegating responsibilities. “We at Sasken encourage people who would like to augment their career and skill sets and enhance productivity.” But would that mean allowing them a sabbatical leave to undertake courses away from office, “Of course,” butts in Krishnan, “(but) we would like them to work with us after they have completed their degrees... The key to success of this model is faith and trust.”
